We cover several methods for intermittent fasting, the most common being a daily window, or time frame, where eating is allowed. If your “feeding” window is a 6-hour time frame from noon to 6pm, your intermittent fasting ratio would be 18:6. The window is adjustable to suit your needs and typically somewhere between three to eight hours. During the fasting phase, don’t freak out! You won’t starve.

For someone wanting to reduce body fat, or to help reduce blood glucose levels, ketosis is a desirable state for the body to be in. It is when the body burns ketones instead of using fuel from food to burn body fat.

In intermittent fasting, the body also draws on its own body fat for fuel rather than fuel from food.

This is why combining the keto diet with intermittent fasting is a double whammy when it comes to losing weight fast and effectively.
